The Grey Lady and The Mummy

I know it's WAY past Halloween but I wanted to share a photo of me and W from The Boys' Halloween party at their school. I was quite proud of my costume this year. I made it myself, well, with very minor help from my mom. I got the idea from Martha Stewart. She's just genius when it comes to Halloween. Stop, rewind, she's pretty much genius when it comes to almost any and everything.

Happy Halloween

Well, I'm off to get ready for my most favorite holiday. I hope you and your little ones have a safe and fun Hollow's Eve. Boo!

I almost forgot to post some pictures of this year's Halloween Decor.

Food For Thought

Last week my darling friend A introduced me to Food For Thought (12640 Fort Street Draper). We met our other friend A for lunch (two A's and a K - haha) at this quaint and hidden treat. Well it was a hidden treat for me but no longer. I know I will go back again and again. One of the A's had her usual, quiche and soup (both looked amazing). The other A had a meatloaf panini sandwich. Talk about comfort food. I had a delicious salad with strawberries, saute mushrooms, almonds, and goat cheese. Mmmmmm. When it came to dessert they all looked amazing. We tried the Oreo Cake and Bread Pudding. So you can have really great bread pudding or one that will turn you off completely. Let me tell you, I will go back just for the bread pudding. It's really not fair to call it bread pudding since it's made of CROISSANTS!!! My mouth is watering just thinking about this little bit of heaven. I can't wait to go back.

On our way out I had to snap a shot of their counter. Too cute! I loved their gumball display so I incorporated it into my Halloween decor. I went to Orson Gygi and bought green, black, and white gumballs. I think it turned out great!

BTW, I found these spiders at Orson Gygi and insects that you grow in water. Let me tell you they grow VERY big.

What To Do?

Last year B and I took W and J to all the local Halloween haunts for kiddos. Out of all of them The Boys liked Red Butte Garden's, Garden After Dark, hands down. They loved it! I loved it! So it's not wonder that I'm excited for this year's Garden After Dark. If you have time for only one activity with your kiddos this Halloween go and experience Red Butte's Garden After Dark, you won't be disappointed.

My co-worker, B, and I were talking about Halloween the other day and he found this amazing painting from Sylvia Ji'. This might be next year's costume!

Halloween - Part 1

Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday! I love everything about it: the candy, the weather, the fights, the ghouls, the stories, the scares. It's the kick-off holiday to the best season of the year and the best trio of holidays! It's a great time for the kiddos and for creating amazing memories with and for them. Oh, and of course I LOVE to dress up. This year, I'm making a costume called the Grey Lady, courtesy of Martha. Once I have it made I'll post a picture of it. I'm SO EXCITED for this costume. I hope it turns out.

In the meantime, I'm looking for some new decoration
s to add to my collection. Last year I changed out my Halloween decor to be all black and white. I loved the new look. I'm thinking about adding these to this year's collection.

This could hang right inside the front door.
