M·A·C Cosmetics established VIVA GLAM in 1994 to support men, women and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS globally. Since then, VIVA GLAM I, II, III, IV, V and VI, has been launched with continuous shades and have achieved tremendous success over the years.
For Spring 2010 two new VIVA GLAM shades have been introduced by Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga. These two shades will only be available for 12 months. Every cent of the selling price of VIVA GLAM Lipstick and Lipglass is donated to the M·A·C AIDS Fund to support men, women, and children living with HIV and AIDS.
How fabulous to purchase amazing lipstick from M·A·C while helping a very worthy cause!

A few years back I was searching for a holiday gift to send our friend's children. Since they live in the Bay Area I wanted to find something that when I sent it, wouldn't cost more than the gift itself. I stumbled across markmakers.org.
You can purchase gift cards in any denomination and the recipient can choose which category to donate to. I think this is a great way for children to learn the act of charity and that they can make a difference. My girlfriend said that her children loved choosing which charity to give to. Imagine that, a gift and a lesson learned!
I added a new widget off to the side, "Give Back." I want to highlight charities and initiatives I come across that are inspiring and with very little effort on my part (and yours) can make a world of difference. The first one I'm highlighting is Children's Safe Drinking Water Program.
The Children's Safe Drinking Water Program is focused on reducing sickness and dealth resulting from drinking contaminated water. It is estimated that 1.1 billion people worldwide have no access to clean drinking water. Visit cdsw.org to make a donation to a program that distributes PUR packets, a powder that makes potentially deadly water drinkable. For as little as $1, you can provide a child clean fresh drinking water for 50 days. We take too much for granted, so skip your morning latte and make a difference.
